In agriculture, mining, oil pumping and other activities that tend to take place over wide geographical areas; telemetry is used to monitor critical conditions and events.

Remote sensing and reporting helps users make sure they are getting the substances they do want (water through an irrigation pump or crude oil through an oil well, for instance) and not getting the substances they don’t want (such as noxious fumes in an underground mine).

Users can also monitor expensive, mission-critical machinery at remote sites, without the time and expense of sending technicians out for periodic checks.
